Michigan State has been seeded No. 1 and sent to the West region.

Tom Izzo's history suggests the Spartans are set up for another long run.

Izzo has at least advanced to the Final Four each of the previous three times his team was seeded first in the NCAA tournament.

The Spartans beat Ohio State 68-64 Sunday for their first Big Ten tournament title since 2000, the year they were seeded first and went on to win the national title. They were also top-seeded teams in 1999 and 2001, when they lost in the semifinals.

Michigan State started the season unranked. It will finish it in the NCAA tournament for the 15th straight year.
