LANSING, MI (AP) --
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan's high school football finals
will remain in Detroit for the next two years.
The Michigan High School Athletic Association and Ford Field
said Monday they've agreed to a two-year extension of their current
contract. The MHSAA championship games will take place at the
65,000-seat facility in 2010 and 2011.
Ford Field, home to the Detroit Lions, has hosted the MHSAA
football finals since 2005.
The finals take place annually on Thanksgiving weekend, and will
be held this year on Nov. 27-28.
Last year's attendance of 66,160 was the highest for the
two-day, eight-game event since the MHSAA adopted a five-week,
eight-division playoff format in 1999.
The playoffs begin Friday and Saturday with pre-district games.
