GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- A Grand Traverse County home was severely damaged by fire Wednesday and just as crews thought it was under control, it flared back up.

The fire broke out around 8 p.m. at a home on White Pine Rd. in Green Lake Township. Crews battled the fire for hours and just as they thought it was contained the flames shot back up and crews scrambled to get it back under control. Despite the rain, strong wind gusts fanned the fire.

Fire Crews tell 7&4 News that no one was home at the time because the power had been knocked out by Friday's storm and the house was too cold to live in. No one was injured and there is no word yet on a cause.
