As prices fall to the lowest level in years the amount of home sales nationwide take an unexpected turn in a positive direction, but is northern Michigan an exception to the rule?

The Traverse City Police Department says they're expecting a much larger crowd than usual this year in downtown Traverse City.  With the Cherry-T-Ball drop that's scheduled to take place on Front Street Thursday evening, police say more people will be in the area.  That's why police are increasing patrols this year, even having two police officers patrolling Front Street on foot throughout the evening.

As far as the weather that's expected to move into northern Michigan, Cherry Capital Airport said as of Wednesday afternoon there weren't any flight delays.  That could change during the next several hours, which is why airport staff say if you're planning on flying out of town, it's best to get there early.

Students at one Benzie County elementary school are going home with some much warmer winter clothing.  A coat drive for the past couple of days at Betsie Valley Elementary in Thompsonville distributed more than 200 coats, boots, scarves and gloves to the students

Now that the snow has arrived, area ski resorts have been up and running for about the past two weeks now.  Shanty Creek Resorts in Antrim County say business is going strong and they expect it to only pick up after the Christmas holiday.  The ski business is also creating an economic boost for local shops and restaurants.
