LANSING -- Leelanau County is the healthiest county in Michigan, according to a new study from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
The rankings examine the health and well-being of people living in nearly every county in the United States.
Factors in the rankings include; rates of childhood poverty, rates of smoking, obesity levels, access to physicians and dentists, rates of high school graduation and college, access to healthy foods and levels of physical activity.
Leelanau County took the crown with other northern Michigan counties making strong statements on the list. Here are how the northern Michigan counties fared:

The overall least healthy county was Wayne County in southeast Michigan.
