BIG RAPIDS -- The Ferris State University Department of Public Safety has released a sketch of the man they say sexually assaulted a woman last Tuesday.

The crime took place on Ferris State's campus in Big Rapids Tuesday around 8:10 pm.

Police say the woman was walking on the sidewalk between Lot 25 and South Street near a construction zone. Police say the man jumped out at the woman and dragged her back to the bushes, where she was able to get away and run for help. The victim told police the man did have a possible knife during the attack.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, approximately 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a dark zip up hoodie with light colored liner. The man was chewing tobacco and appeared to be unshaven.

7&4 was told last week that campus police are checking on several tips from the community. As of Friday, investigators had interviewed several people but no arrests had been made.

Anyone who recognizes this man, or may have information in this case, is asked to call the Ferris State University Department of Public Safety at 231-591-5000. You can also call the campus crime hotline at 231-591-5900 or text Bulldogstexttip@Ferris.edu.
