OSCEOLA -- Michigan State Police are asking for your help tracking down a suspect who they say assaulted a woman and tried to abduct her last night.

The victim, a 23 year-old female from Evart, who is an employee at Spring Hill Campgrounds, was walking on 8 Mile Rd just west of 100th Ave. when she came across a vehicle parked off the road. A male subject exited the vehicle and approached her and told her he wanted to speak to her. When the victim continued walking, the male subject grabbed her arm. The victim pulled away and ran toward a residence. The male was last observed getting back into his vehicle and driving North on 100th Ave toward 9 Mile Rd.

The victim initially observed the male suspect, earlier in the day, on the Spring Hill campgrounds carrying what appeared to be a soft rifle case on his back. When the male subject was approached regarding his presence on the campgrounds by the victim, he walked away and got into a vehicle. Other witnesses had observed a male subject, who was similar in description, on the campground accompanied by a female. The vehicle they were traveling in was also similar to the Suspect vehicle that was described.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 6 feet 2 inches and approximately 160-170 pounds, chin length brown hair and brown eyes. The suspect was last seen wearing a greasy blue t-shirt, dark denim jeans, and white running shoes. Earlier in the day he was seen wearing a blue and grey flannel.

The male suspect may be accompanied by a white female, approximately 5 feet 9 inches, approximately 280 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes. The female was described as wearing a cream colored sheep skin longer coat.

The suspect vehicle was described as possibly an older model Ford Taurus station wagon body, light blue or teal in color and dirty. No license plate was observed on the vehicle. The vehicle and the male suspect were last seen heading North on 100th Ave toward 9 Mile Rd.
