TRAVERSE CITY -- Tonight Traverse City had the chance to pick up their holiday cards - and the opportunity to meet the artists who made them.
M-22, located on Front St. in downtown TC, hosted the Paperworks Studio premiere party for this year's holiday cards. The bash included drinks and hors d'ouvres, and plenty of mingling.
Paperworks Studio is a program of Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan and the production team and artists all have special needs. Each card is handmade one-at-a-time from recycled materials. At tonight's party employees were showing how they make cards out of blue jeans!
Brian Lewis, the director of business and development, stated, "Tonight is about celebrating the artists and all the incredible Christmas and holiday cards they do. They're all handmade, they're all recycled-you'll never find another card made with more love and inspiration anywhere in the world. And to know that the community has such great support for this program-it's one of the best things you could ever experience."
Paperworks Studio makes all kinds of cards (out of jeans, coffee grounds, beer-you name it!) for all kinds of events. You can purchase the cards online or even stop in forĀ a tour of the studio!
The studio is located at 2889 Aero Park Dr. in Traverse City. Their phone number is: 231-995-7757 and below is a link to their website.
