TRAVERSE CITY -- Take part in this year's Lunch On The Run and help raise money for the Women's Cancer Fund!

Hundreds of Jimmy John's sandwiches will be sold during two days, for the benefit of women in the region dealing with cancer.

A community lunch fundraiser, called Lunch On The Run, will be held September 20th and 21st with all the proceeds going to benefit Munson Medical Center's Women's Cancer Fund.

Now in its sixth year, employees of Bill Marsh Auto and Hagerty Insurance have organized the event. They are limited to selling 1,000 sandwiches over the two days, but people will be able to purchase additional lunch certificates that can be redeemed in October.

"The sandwiches quickly sold out last year," says Bill Marsh Jr. "And we hope the same thing happens this year."

The Jimmy John's lunches will include the choice of three sandwiches, bag of chips, chocolate chunk cookie and a bottle of water. Customers will have their choice of three sandwiches; Pepe ham sandwich, Turkey Tom and Vegetarian. Cost for the lunch is $10 with delivery available in many Traverse City area locations without additional charge.

Orders can be made at www.BillMarshLunch.com.

Lunch on the Run was first organized in 2007 as a way to support to The Remembrance Run, which is a 5k-run/walk event that takes place October 6th at Timber Ridge Resort.

The Woman's Cancer Fund assists women with non-medical financial assistance as they deal with the crippling effects of cancer. All the money stays in the local area and has helped hundreds of women since its creation. Since it began, Lunch on the Run has raised nearly $28,000 in support of the Fund. Registration for the Remembrance Run is online at www.RemembranceRun.com.
