KALKASKA, MICH. -- The gunman in Kalkaska is now in police custody.

According to the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office, the gunman, 41 year old James Brackenbury, was arrested this morning at his parents home in Kalkaska Township.

The suspect had his family tell police that he wanted to turn himself in, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened Saturday morning when police say Brackenbury pointed a handgun at a victim, then ran off into the woods behind the house. Authorities say the victim and suspect did know each other and there had been some domestic troubles between the victim's cousin and Brackenbury.

Police say in addition to having a handgun, the suspect also had a rifle with a sling across his back.

After an all-night man hunt both Saturday and Sunday, Brackenbury finally turned himself in on Monday morning.

He has been charged with 2 counts of Domestic Violence, 1 count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of a Fire Arm.
