EAST BAY TWP. -- A Traverse City man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle. 

It happened Saturday around 8:12pm in Grand Traverse County. 

The Sheriff said James Paul Ritter, 34,  was riding on S. Hobbs Highway near Last Bay Drive when he lost control on a curve.   Ritter was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
