ST. IGNACE -- UPDATE AS OF 10:00 a.m.: The Mackinac Bridge has reopened to all traffic. The danger from falling ice has diminished as temperatures warm.

The Mackinac Bridge is shut down due to ice falling off the cables.

The Bridge Authority closed the bridge around 8:45am and will reopen it after the safety issue is over.
