CARP LAKE TOWNSHIP -- Firefighters spent several hours battling a house fire in Carp Lake Township early this morning.

The blaze broke out around 1 am and left homeowners Dwayne and Peggy Swenor in critical condition.

We are told Dwayne is a former teacher and football coach at Petoskey High School.

So far the cause of the fire is unknown.
