CRAWFORD COUNTY -- A Crawford County man is dead after an officer shot him at an apartment complex Friday night.

Crawford County Sheriffs Deputies say it happened around 4:30pm Friday night at the Grayling Pines Apartments.

They say that officers were attempting to serve the man with a Child Protective Service court order, but when they got to the apartment the man came at the officers with a knife.  This is when one of the deputies fired his gun and killed the man.

The officer is on administrative leave until the investigation by Michigan State Police is completed.

The suspects name has not been released.
