TRAVERSE CITY -- Many in Northern Michigan have enjoyed the above average temperatures. Residents and visitors alike have jumped at the chance to get out and about, walking around downtown for some shopping and grabbing a bite to eat. Others relish walking the dog in a sweatshirt or saving money on their heating bills. However, for businesses that depend on the typical Northern Michigan winter conditions, such as Mt. Holiday, warm weather means getting creative with new ways to draw visitors. Michelle Konstanzer, the food and beverage director at Mt. Holiday, said they are still holding lessons and racing leagues, but are also coming up with new deals and events to keep visitors' interest peaked.
