MANISTEE -- An interactive forum on education will take place Tuesday in Manistee County.

The Center for Michigan, a nonprofit organization, is holding a "Community Conversations about Education."    The organization says the event has four goals.

  • To expand the knowledge of students, parents, employers and educators about education choices in facing Michigan.
  • To gather perspectives and preferences of Michigan residents on major education policy and reform choices.
  • To amplify the voices of Michigan residents and press state decision makers to follow participant recommendations on how best to improve student prospects for the future.
  • To provide participants with options on how to become more involved in improving educational opportunities for students.

The Tuesday forum in Manistee will take place at the Manistee County Road Commission from 6:30-8pm. The Manistee County Community Foundation is inviting a cross section of County interests to participate.

The Center will hold additional Community Conversations on Education in the area:

January 23: Frankfort's Garden Theatre 6:30-8pm

January 25: Hagerty Center in Traverse City 7-8:30pm
