TRAVERSE CITY -- "It's really easy," says Phil Murray, Owner of Phil's on Front restaurant in Traverse City. "You can add white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate. I like to mix it up."

Phil is helping you create some of his favorite dishes in your own kitchen every week on UpNorthLive Tonight on ABC 29&8.

This week Phil is sharing his "Almost Famous Bread Pudding" recipe:

Ingredients:

4 cups Bread (French or Croissant)

Cut into Cubes

1 Cup dried cherries

1 Cup sliced dried apricots

2 Cups chocolate pieces

1 Cup milk

1 Cup cream

6 Eggs (natural or organic)

¾ Cup organic sugar

1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

Cooking Directions:

First, scald cream and milk. Whip eggs and add scalded cream mixture to eggs very slowly. Add sugar and vanilla, and soak all ingredients in bowl for about a half hour. Next, bake in a nine inch cheese cake pan at 350 degrees for one hour.

And to top it off?

"It's very, very moist, so you can just put some whipped cream on it or some caramel sauce," says Phil.

If you can't wait until next week to taste Phil's bread pudding, head to Phils On Front in downtown Traverse City. Phil's on Front is located at 236 East Front Street.
