The National Guard is kicking off a new initiative called "American Jobs for American Heroes" in hopes of making it easier for veterans to find work.

The guard is encouraging small and mid-sized companies across the country to post jobs for veterans on a special website.

Companies that register to use the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network website can connect with thousands of National Guard members, spouses and veterans looking for work.
