Michigan AG's office explains medical marijuana law to police

Law enforcement officers, prosecutors having a tough time enforcing the medical marijuana law.

TRAVERSE CITY -- State officials traveled to Traverse City to help law enforcement officers and local government officials define Michigan's complicated Medical Marijuana Law.

Today's seminar is just one of many Attorney General Bill Shuette is holding in the state the goal is to help explain the rules. To date almost 200,000 medical marijuana applications have been received with more than 120,000 active patients in the state.

Since the law passed in 2008, police say they've had a difficult time enforcing it.
