TRAVERSE CITY -- An annual event will have you working up a sweat before you dig into your holiday feast Thursday.

The 4th Annual Traverse City Downtown Turkey Trot will have about 2000 people running or walking for the event while raising money for charities in our area.  It will take place Thursday at 9 a.m.. It will begin and end at a new location this year, Thirlby Field.  You have to preregister, which you can do by clicking here.

There will also be a Wednesday night event called TCAPS LEAP Under the Lights.  The pre-holiday turkey trot will take place under the lights at Thirlby Field from 5-8 p.m..
