TRAVERSE CITY -- The Occupy Traverse City group is pushing to change the Michigan Constitution while it continues to assemble at different locations around the area.

Occupy TC wants an amendment to the Michigan Constitution to stop corporations from being recognized as people.  

Suggestion for Amendment to Article 15 (Corporations) of the Michigan Constitution; Corporations are not entitled to the rights of persons.

The group is also discussing creating its own Declaration for Occupy Traverse City, which would be similar to the Declaration for Occupy Wall Street.

A General Assembly will take place Saturday at noon in front of the Chase Bank in downtown Traverse City.  The group is asking for donations of food, clothing and blankets for local shelters.
