BEAVER ISLAND -- A Beaver Island woman experiencing stroke symptoms was air-lifted to the mainland Tuesday night by the Coast Guard.

A rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Traverse City went to the island and transported her to Harbor Springs where she was later transferred by EMS to a hospital.
