PETOSKEY -- Two men from Charlevoix will be charged Friday for stealing safes and other items from two Halloween Superstores.

Earlier this week two stores, one in Petoskey and the other just outside Traverse City, were broken into.

Wednesday, officers from the Petoskey Department of Public Safety working in conjunction with the Charlevoix County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office developed information that led to a search warrant being issued at a home located on Old 31South in Charlevoix County.

Items recovered from led to the arrest two men, one 22 years old, and the other 32, both of Charlevoix.

Officers were able to recover most of the stolen items and the safes involved in the crimes. The stolen property was located in and around the area near the home of one of the suspects.

The suspects are expected to be formally charged and arraigned on Friday for the offenses committed in Emmet County. Their names may be released after their arraignments.

Local law enforcement agencies worked together on this case after noticing the similar manner in which the crimes had occurred.

The cooperative efforts of the Petoskey Department of Public Safety, the Charlevoix County Sheriff's Office, the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, and the Emmet County Prosecutor's Office, led to the quick arrests.
