TRAVERSE CITY -- There's a new website designed to be an online marketplace for local artisans.

The website is TraverseGourmet.com and was launched last week. Cile Plumstead and her husband Norm are the co-founders of the site. It features a variety of local artisan coffees, jams, teas even specialty chocolate delights.

"It's kind of a one spot location where you shop all of these artisans and many of their great products, foods from all over northern Michigan," said Cile.

On the site you can also find bios about the featured artisans next to their products. Plumstead says people should not only get to know what they're tasting, but also the face behind the creation.
