GAYLORD -- It was a special dedication and open house for the area's first homeless veterans transitional housing community Saturday morning.

The community is located in Gaylord and is a four-duplex project, that will house up to 24 veterans at any given time.

Goodwill Industries led the dedication and special guest speakers, like former Senator Jason Allen also showed up to celebrate.

The Veterans Administration says there is already a waiting list of veterans who are eager to move into the new community.

A money shortage slowed this project down but goodwill says they hope to start moving in veterans by mid-October.
