15-year-old Logan Marie McDonough died Tuesday evening from injuries sustained in an afternoon car crash in Leelanau County.

The Glen Lake Schools sophomore was riding in a car driven by a 16 year old classmate on Coleman Road south of Baatz Road in Kasson Township.

According to deputies, around 3:20 Tuesday afternoon, the car left the road, struck a utility pole and eventually came to a rest on the car's roof.  Both the driver and McDonough were transported to Munson Medical Center, where McDonough was pronounced dead. 

School officials told 7&4 News that counselors will be on hand to help students deal with the loss when the return to class Wednesday morning.
