TRAVERSE CITY -- After years of hard work, veterans and community members are celebrating the completion of a new memorial park in Traverse City.

The Grand Traverse Veterans Memorial Park is looking better than ever, thanks to the volunteers and generous donations from local businesses.

Sunday afternoon, these very people came together for a special dedication ceremony for the park.

Just as the ribbon was cut, the Traverse City Coast Guard did a special fly over.  Boy Scouts were also there to raise the American flag.

Organizers say the next phase will include a pavilion and restrooms.
