TRAVERSE CITY -- The first ever Heart Chase event kicked off in Traverse City Saturday morning. 

The event, which is sponsored by the American Heart Association, is best described as the "Amazing Race" meets "Minute to Win it."

It's a community wide competition, to solve clues and complete activities that engage friends and families of all ages in a race to the finish line.

After a energy packed warm up, participants used their smart phones to travel to 10 check points throughout downtown area, where they did a healthy activity at each spot.

7&4's very own Melissa Smith is the event chair and says this is a new, fun way to support a great cause.
