National Cherry Festival: Day 4

TRAVERSE CITY -- The National Cherry Festival is in full swing with a lot of fun on tap for Tuesday!

The festival is celebrating the regions past with "Heritage Day".  

Native American arts, crafts and traditional foods will be on display and for sale at the Open Space until 4:00 PM.  The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians will celebrate with a Pow Wow starting at noon.

The Cherry Industry Program and Awards ceremony will take place from 1:30-2:30 PM at the MSU NW Michigan Horticultural Research Station.  It's located at 6686 S. Center Hwy.

Teenagers will also gather for music, food and friendship for the HEAT! Teen event from 8:00-11:00 PM.  The event takes place at the Festival Open Space Park East, which is at the corner of Union Street and Grandview Parkway.

The free evening concert is Thornetta Davis, which will take place at the Cherry Blast Stage.
