CADILLAC -- A Wexford County auto parts supplier that employs several hundred people has been sold to an European Company.

Avon Automotive in Cadillac will soon be owned by French auto supplier MGI Coutier.

The rubber hose maker says they will stay in Cadillac.

Avon President and CEO Lee Richards says Coutier is buying the company to expand both geographically and its product line.

Lee Richards says, "They were looking for a fit. Geographically we filled the gaps. They wanted to be in North America, that's where we do the most business. I think we were the missing puzzle piece they were looking for "

Richards says the increase in customers and product line means more jobs in the future. The deal will be finalized on July 6th.
