TRAVERSE CITY -- The teen charged with murdering Carly Lewis has a new lawyer representing him in his case. Robert Jensen Schwander's former attorney Clarence Gomery has stepped down from his position as defense attorney in the case.

Schwander is accused of killing Carly Lewis and burying her body in a sand pile on property owned by the Traverse City Department of Public Works.

Investigators found her body 12-days after they say Schwander killed her.

Attorney Clarence Gomery gave 7&4 news this statement:
"I have the ability to evaluate cases and take them or not take them. this is my own decision."
