TRAVERSE CITY -- It’s almost Mother's Day, and for two local businesses, that means it's time to help moms in need. It's the annual "Movers for Moms" event in Traverse City which is hosted by Two Men and a Truck and a local radio station.
It’s designed to collect basic necessities for mothers who use the shelter at the women's resource center.
Organizers say its way to do something special for moms and other women who may need help – giving them something positive in their life.
WKHQ Radio Personality Josh Garber says, "With Mothers Day we think about the moms that go to these shelters like Women's Resource Center with just the shirt on their back nothing else… coming from domestic violence situation… that's what this is all about. We can use anything from toiletries to clothing to baby items things like that just for mom's that really need it."
This is the 4th Two Men and a Truck has teamed up with WKHQ to support the Women's Resource Center which serves victims of domestic violence in the Grand Traverse Area.
