Acme Marina Meeting

ACME TWP. -- Local and state leaders will address questions and concerns regarding a proposed marina in Grand Traverse County.
Acme Township leaders want input and ideas on the possibility of operating a municipal marina. The area of focus for the project is near the former Mountain Jacks off of U.S. 31.
A panel of marina experts and officials with the Department of Natural Resources will discuss the pros and cons of the project. New data from a market study will also be presented.
The marina meeting will take place Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Mt. Holiday Lodge Mt. Holiday Lodge, 3100 Holiday Road.

The panel guests will be: Mark Benedict; Harbormaster, Elmwood Township Marina R. Ben Bifoss; City Manager for Traverse City Bill Boik; DNRE Supervisor, Waterways Planning Unit Jack Kelly; Elmwood Township Supervisor Paul Petersen; DNRE Harbor Program Manager Cheryl Werth; Harbormaster, Elk Rapids Marina • Breakout groups will follow to discuss other ideas and questions from the public, and Mt. Holiday will be keeping their lounge open for further discussion after the meeting.
