CHARLEVOIX, MI -- Friday, the premiere for a movie that was shot right here in Northern Michigan opens at the Charlevoix Cinema.

The movie, called The Frontier Boys, is a fictional movie about four Charlevoix High School boys.

Their world gets rocked by a drive-by shooting, and they have to grow up and deal with the situation.

Producer John Grooters, who graduated from Charlevoix High School, says it's a must-see.

"The local people from Michigan, whether they're from Mancelona, East Jordan, Charlevoix, they're going to see themselves, Petoskey, Elk Rapids, it's in their backyard, it's in their area, they're going to notice a few things we did goody too, they'll say yeah right, some things are movie magic," said Grooters.

"It just turned out so well, everything worked so well together, and I think everybody should come out and see it because it's a powerful film with even more of a powerful message," said Jake Boyce, an actor in The Frontier Boys.

The first showing has been sold out.  There are still tickets available for the 9:15 showing.  The Frontier Boys will be shown in Charlevoix for the next week.
