MANTON, MI -- Bottled water has become a commodity in Manton, where a water boil has been in effect for several days.

Local store owners said they are out of bottled water because so many people have rushed to the store to purchase some for their homes.

Residents in the city of Manton are asked to boil their water before using it after recent tests showed coliform bacteria was present. The tests were negative for E. Coli and other harmful bacteria.

Officials with the DNR said the water is being treated and tested.  The water boil could be lifted on Monday afternoon pending water test results.
