NEWBERRY -- State Police in Luce County say a deadly crash Wednesday may have been caused by a broken axle. The crash happened around noon on M-123 just north of M-28. 

Investigators say 64-year-old Robert King of Hulbert lost control of his car and crossed the center line. His car was hit in the driver's door area by an oncoming truck. King was killed in the crash. Investigators believe the rear axle of his car may have broken causing him to lose control.

The other driver was treated at the hospital and released.
