"Readjustment After Deployment" presentation at NCMC

PETOSKEY, MI -- North Central Michigan College invites military veterans, their families and friends to attend a luncheon presentation about readjustment after deployment on Wednesday, February 23, at noon in the Library conference room. The presentation, entitled, “Some Wounds Are Not Visible: How We Can Help Our Vets,” will be led by Greg Siemienkiewicz, marriage and family therapist with the Michigan Department of Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Gaylord.
Siemienkiewicz will speak about common issues faced by veterans after deployment including family readjustment, post traumatic stress disorder, sleep disturbances, trust issues, high-risk behavior, anger management and the importance of support. Sharleen Gray, suicide prevention coordinator from the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, will address the issue of suicide and resources for suicide prevention.
