The 2011 State Winter Games are underway in Grand Traverse and Antrim Counties.

Hundreds of athletes are competing in the Special Olympics.  The games include everything from downhill skiing to ice skating, snowshoeing and snowboarding. 

The athletes took part in Time Trials Wednesday with the games scheduled to begin Thursday.
