EMMET CO., MI -- Congressman Dan Benishek (R, MI) was in the State’s First District Tuesday.

Benishek stopped by Boyne City this morning, and this afternoon, we caught up with him at the Odawa Governmental Center, where he discussed future goals the tribe would like to see with Benishek in the lead.

This is his first break from his duties in Washington, and he's touring the district for ten days as part of a new legislative schedule.

"We're going to have that opportunity every month, and then I'll be going through a different set of cities next month probably, because I want people to get a hold of me," said Benishek.

Benishek says it’s important for him to visit the people in his district.

He says right now, it’s all about creating a plan to bring jobs to Northern Michigan.
