OTSEGO CO., MI -- 7&4 News has new details Tuesday involving a fire that destroyed an Otsego County home.

The Otsego Lake Fire Department says the home was located at 7941 W. Otsego Lake Dr., which is near Beaver Damn Rd., south of Otsego Lake.

Otsego Lake Fire Department was dispatched just after 7 pm Monday to a home that was described as "fully engulfed."  When crews arrived, the home was ablaze and flames could be spotted as the fire department approached the home.

One man and his dog were at the house at the time of the fire, and both made it out ok.  The Otsego Lake Fire Chief says the homeowner said wood in the woodstove rolled out, igniting the carpet, which spread quickly throughout the house.

Two other fire departments assisted with the inferno, and crews left the scene four hours later.
