LANSING, MI (AP) -- Gov. Rick Snyder is following up his first State of the State speech by lining up legislative sponsors for some of his key initiatives.

The Republican governor told The Associated Press on Thursday he's seeking a sponsor for legislation to eliminate a law that requires price tags on every item in Michigan stores.

He also plans to line up lawmakers to introduce bills to clear the way for building a second bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.

Snyder gave his first State of the Speech on Wednesday. It was generally well-received by both Republicans and Democrats, but some lawmakers are awaiting more specifics.

Snyder also says he'll do his part to emphasize wellness to lower health care costs. He says he plans to lose five to 10 pounds this year.
