REDDING TWP. -- An Evart man is charged with causing a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Clare County.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Kirby Road and M-61 in Redding Township.

Deputies say 41-year-old James Blake was driving the truck that crashed into a 54-year-old Mt. Pleasant man. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Blake was arraigned Monday on a charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death.  His bond was set at $50,000 cash.

The crash shut down M-61 for nearly two hours.
