Flu season is soon to begin, and the Health Department of Northern Michigan urges you to get your shot
As the leaves begin to change colors, it's an unfortunate reality, flu season begins.
And this year, the Health Department of Northwest Michigan urges you to get your flu shot.
The Health Department has received the flu vaccine early this year, and they're about to launch their flu campaign, which is getting people vaccinated.
They urge that everyone, six months and older, should consider the shot.
"Children have the highest rates of the flu. But there's other population groups that have a higher risk of severe flu illness, such as those children under 5 and over 65, and anybody else that has any kind of health problems," said Deputy Health Officer Linda Yaroch.
The Health Department will stop at schools where kids will be able to get a shot for free.
They'll also stop at senior centers and businesses, by request.
