CHEBOYGAN CO. -- A 7-week-old baby is dead from injuries she suffered during a chain reaction crash in Cheboygan County.

It happened on M-68 near Afton around 10:20 Friday morning.

Three cars carrying twelve people were involved in the crash, including seven children. Officials say a car crashed into a vehicle making a left hand turn from M-68 on to Afton Road in Koehler Twp.,  spinning that car out of control and hitting a boat trailer pulled by a truck.

Savanah Kirk, 7 weeks old, was taken to Cheboygan Memorial Hospital then to DeVos by helicopter. On Saturday she died as a result of injuries.

A three year old child was injured and also taken to DeVos and is listed in Stable condition.

Once the investigation is complete all information will be turned over to the Cheboygan County Prosecutor's Office for review.
