EAST JORDAN -- A Charlevoix County health center is getting a financial boost from the Federal Government.

East Jordan Family Health Center has received a $351,341 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  The HHS Health Center grant will provide expanded health care services to residents in Charlevoix and Antrim Counties.

The East Jordan Family Health Center (EJFHC) is based in East Jordan, with satellite offices in Bellaire and Central Lake. 

Through EJFHC, patients have direct access to primary and preventative health care, obstetrical care, radiology services including mammography, laboratory services and pharmacy services. 

The grant will help EJFHC continue to provide quality primary and preventive care services as well as provide sliding fee discounts to income eligible patients.  In 2009, EJFHC provided comprehensive primary and preventative health services to 9,667 patients in Charlevoix and Antrim Counties through 32,516 visits.
