LAKE CITY -- A Lake City teenager is hospitalized in critical condition after going under while swimming.

The Missaukee County Sheriff's Office was called to the city beach in Lake City around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.  Witnesses told deputies a 16-year-old was having trouble in the water and disappeared.

The teenager was found in about 12 feet of water.  Life support was started by the Missaukee EMS and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
