TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Regardless of the warm temperatures, runners put their training to the test Saturday.

Saturday marked the 26th annual Traverse City State Bank Bayshore Marathon.

Over 6,000 runners ran in either the marathon, half-marathon, or the 10k.

The finish line was lined with supporters of the men and women.

One man we spoke with said this was his first marathon, and he couldn't have picked a more beautiful route.

"Probably a little hot to be running a marathon, but I have nothing to compare it to, it was my first. However, the route was so beautiful, that I was tempted several times to lay down on the grass and some people had real nice hammocks next to the water, so I was tempted there," said runner Mike Notorinao.

7 & 4 was represented in the Bayshore Marathon--both Diana Fairbanks and Mark Schollett finished the race.

Hillary Cheruiyot from Minneapolis finished first on the men's side in 2:24:09.

Jessica Graf from Holton, Michigan finished first in the women's race in 2:49:37.
