An absconder from a Michigan Department of Corrections re-entry program is back behind bars.

Jeffrey Purchis was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Eaton County. 

Purchis and Derek McCartney were on a work detail in Oscoela County Monday when they took a county owned van. Purchis now faces habitual offender,  larceny, and escapee charges.

McCartney is still missing.
