DETROIT (AP) -- Wayne State University has suspended a fraternity and could seek charges against people in a hazing incident that seriously injured a 22-year-old student.
Then-Wayne State student Eric Walker of Ann Arbor tells WJBK-TV and The Detroit News he was repeatedly beaten at an off-campus location during initiation to Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
He spent 12 days in the Annapolis and University of Michigan hospitals in March for kidney failure and other injuries.
Wayne State police Chief Anthony Holt says the university suspended the chapter and says he expects to report soon to the
Wayne County prosecutor's office. Kappa Alpha Psi Executive Director Richard Lee Snow says he's investigating. He says the Philadelphia-based fraternity bans hazing.
