8:45 a.m. CST GLENDALE, Ariz. -- KPHO in Phoenix, Ariz., is reporting that one person is dead after he and another suspect led police on a chase onto Luke Air Force Base, police said.
Glendale police tried to pull over a stolen car just before midnight Monday.
According to Captain Jerry Gonzalez, the suspects, while trying to ditch police, drove to Luke Air Force Base and went through one of the security gates.
Security forces set up a road block on the base, but when the suspects didn't stop, security forces fired at the vehicle which then crashed into a guard rail, Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez said he believes both suspects in the car were shot. One of them died, and the other was taken to a Valley hospital. Neither suspect was identified.
The Glendale Police Department is investigating the incident.
